The power, rhythm, colors and beauty of the bold rugged coast of Maine where I live, and the colors of the landscape and weaving traditions of the American southwest have a strong influence on my artwork.

New in 2021: Powerful Women Tapestries
Priscilla May Alden
Ceremonial Dress
“My contemporary Navajo rug, “Mother Earth, Father Sky”, inspired a series of tapestries about the power of women, and our connection to the spirit and strength of female ancestors. Techniques of wrapping and slits, and more gentle beating of the weft threads allow these tapestries to be more sculptural and flowing.”
Tapestry:
the new wave
Priscilla May Alden and Barbara Burns curated an exceptional tapestry show for the Summer of 2019. “Tapestry: the new wave” featured 30+ works by over a dozen of New England’s finest tapestry weavers. Many of these beautiful tapestries are still available; contact the gallery to inquire or purchase.
